Fifteen persons were killed while 35 others including women and children sustained injures in a road accident on Indus Highway at Lakki Shah Saddar near Sehwan, on Sunday.
According to Samiuddin Siddiqui, Administrator Jamshoro District, truck no. C-3675 carrying the devotees of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar collided with a passenger van no JS-2623 coming from the opposite direction. As a result, 12 passengers died on the spot while 3 others injured succumbed to their wounds before they could get any first aid, he said.
Medical Superintendent Taluka Hospital, Sehwan Moiunuddin Siddiqui has informed that out of the 15 deceased persons, 7 have been identified as Asif Ali Hingoro, Mushtaq Abro, Manzoor Chandio, Mumtaz Ali Chandio, Asadullah Shah, Ali Hassan and Asif. Identity of the remaining 8 deceased persons could not be ascertained, he said.
Administrator Jamshoro informed that out of the 35 injured persons, 25 have been shifted to Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro where after first aid, they have been admitted in the surgical, orthopaedic and other wards.
The injured persons admitted in Liaquat University Hospital have been identified as Nasim Khan, Hakim, Pervez, Mukhtiar, Rab Dino, Zamiri, Busra, Arshad, Nasreen, Nusrat, Hasina, Nadir, Wali, Miral, Kashif, Sadori, Sanaullah, Khairan, Gulzar, Mujeeb, Shafih Muhammad, Sahib Khan and Waheeda. He said soon after the accident, emergency was declared in Taluka Hospital Sehwan and Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro Branch to help the injured.
