Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the government's two-year performance is highly satisfactory, as PPP formed the government under very critical circumstances. He said that development projects are being speedily completed, which is the result of positive policies of the government.
The issue of terrorism is not new, however the government would ensure peace in the country and safety of the people soon, he said. He expressed these views while addressing different public meetings held in his constituency on Sunday.
Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the government is trying its level best to meet the expectations of the people.
'Job opportunities would be available only if there would be foreign investment in the country. And foreign investment in the country is possible only if we bring economic and political stability in the country,' he added.
FM said that 70 per cent of our population lives in rural areas, therefore our country can progress only when our farmers are prosperous. Talking about ongoing development projects of southern Punjab, especially, Multan, he said very soon a new international airport and industrial estate in Multan would be completed which would create a large number of job opportunities.
Moreover, with the completion of new airport, the agricultural produce of this region especially mango and cotton could be exported directly, he maintained.
Qureshi said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has announced a number of development projects for the city in his special package that include construction of flyovers, ring roads, extension of old roads and many others which would, after their completion, totally change the outlook of the city.
