A delegation from Centre for Development Research, Bonn University, Germany visited the Government College University (GCU) and met with Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab to discuss the scope of collaboration with the 146-year old institution in the fields of research and faculty and students exchange programmes here on Wednesday.
Director External Links Fouzia Shaheen, deans, and foreign faculty members were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khalid Aftab said that GCU was focusing on producing indigenous and qualitative research both in the fields of natural and social sciences and it had developed active linkages with local industries and foreign universities for research development.
He said that the university was ranked among top universities of Pakistan for producing a large number of quality research papers in national and international universities. The delegation comprising Dr Conrad Schetter and Katja Miekle showed keen interest in the visit of Bonn University students to GCU.
Dr Conrad Schetter said that he had been working in Pakistan for the last several years and he had fell in love with this country. The delegates said that they wanted to show the world the real and true Pakistan. They also lauded the hospitality of the Pakistani people.
