Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Rehmatullah Kakar held a meeting with the Chairman, House Building Finance Co-operation (HBFC) Azhar A. Jaffery and MD, Khalid Aftab in the Ministry and discussed prospects of co-operation in the housing projects under Prime Minister's housing programme.
The HBFC officials briefed the minister about the various aspects of the financial assistance to be provided to the low-income group and federal government employees in acquiring and construction of housing units. It was told that the HBFC is already extending financial assistance to the government servants and general public providing loans in easy instalments at affordable mark-up in collaboration with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
The HBFC officials further said that a survey of the housing projects would be conducted to assess the financial assistance to be required for the purpose. The minister said HBFC financial assistance in the housing projects would speed up the ongoing construction activities to accomplishment of the national task as quickly as possible.
The minister said that the government was encouraging and facilitating the local and foreign investors and construction companies to participate in the housing projects under Prime Minister's Housing for All Programme under which one million housing units would be built on affordable cost across the country. Secretary Housing briefed the meeting about the various housing projects launched by the government under Prime Minister's housing programme in various places of Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and other cities.-PR
