21 Mar, 2010

Allah Almighty has gifted Pakistan with great generosities. It is rich with natural treasures, capturing valleys and beautiful coastal belt and landscapes as well. In order to utilise these resources for the welfare of the people, availability of a synchronised road network seems the prime need of the country.
This will not only help forge unity and provincial harmony, but will also help make country a trade hub in the context of regional trade activity. Socio-economic stability of the country stands among the top priorities of the present government and it is striving hard to develop and strengthen the infrastructure.
Government is fully aware about the requirement of the transit trade among Pakistan, China, Central Asia States, South Asia and Middle East. Ministry of Communications is implementing a comprehensive program for development of road sector with the co-operation of NHA, and establishment of the National Trade Corridor (NTC), is a worth mentioning advancement to this direction.
Under this program national highways, motorways, expressways are being built gradually to facilitate the transit trade activity that would prepare the ground to generate new employment opportunities and raise the life standard of the people. I am sure, in the coming days, our dear homeland will have a modernised road network to further gear up the pace of economic restoration.
