Judicial magistrate Rai Nawaz Marth here on Wednesday sent DSP Imran Babar Jamil on more two-day physical remand in the police custody in connection with a case of criminal breach of trust. The judge granted his physical remand, as the police required further investigation in cases registered against him. The court, however, granted only two days remand with the directions to produce him again on March 26.
Police has sought his seven days remand in a case registered at Mochi gate police station and accused had been found guilty in the investigation. The police have to recover the pieces of torn FIR and other official documents from him.
The DSP was taken into custody regarding four separate cases, which were registered against him on March 23 at police station Mochi gate and Islampura under section 155-C (misconduct and disobedience) of Police Order 2002 and sections 409 (criminal breach if trust by public servant) of Pakistan Penal Code.
Heavy contingency of personnel of Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) Kotwali brought the DSP to the court and tried to keep him out of access of the media. The police personnel also manhandled some of the media men who tried to have views of the DSP. The DSP in a brief chat told media that the police high ups had illegally implicated him in different cases. He was facing charges for revealing bad deeds of the police department he added.
