Appointment of Shamsul Hassan challenged

Barrister Javaid Iqbal Jeffery has filed a petition before Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the appointment of High Commissioner of Pakistan to UK Wajid Shamsul Hassan. Petitioner contended that the appointment of Wajid was made on the basis of unconstitutional patronage.
He said there was no discretion even the highest positions must be filled in a constitutional manner and must be advertised publicly before appointing a candidate. He said the patronage appointments of respondent caused untold ignominy and disgrace of quality.
