Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan case: LHC to announce verdict on March 29

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday deferred the announcement of its verdict till March 29 in a petition of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan filed against government imposing ban on his movement. After holding a brief in-camera hearing, the court said its verdict will be announced on March 29 and directed Attorney General of Pakistan to appear before the court.
On March 6, the court had reserved its judgement for March 11 and then for March 24. The federation had taken a plea that different foreign journalists in their articles had written that they were in communication with Dr Khan and also attributed sensitive discussion with him. The petitioner said that Dr Khan should either deny or admit the claims made by foreign journalists. The court had directed the federal government to allow provision of medical facility to Dr AQ Khan and meeting with his relatives.
