Two years of democracy has come to completion with remarkable achievements for the welfare and betterment of workers and labourers and a lot is envisioned and will be attained in future. Workers are the backbone for the economy of the country and it is very essential to take some special measures to uplift their standard of living.
The best way to boost the national economy is to ensure the prosperity of the workers who are the living force of our industry and economy and, we are fully aware of our duties and responsibilities towards them.
From legislation to the implementation of what we envision, think and plan we leave no stone unturned in harnessing the potential of workers for progress and prosperity at large. So there is no question of neglecting those who not only feed their families, but also feed the whole nation from their hard work, skills and sense of duty.
Building up labour colonies, establishing schools for the children of workers and setting up health facilities, is the living reality of the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam, Quaid-e-Awam and Shaheed-i-Jamhooriat. Through these practical steps the motto, 'roti, kapra, makaan' is being transformed into reality.
The government is working on the new Labour Policy which will take into account issues of freedom of association, collective bargaining social dialogue, and workers' welfare.
The day is not far when Pakistan will emerge as a social welfare state where the workers shall enjoy complete rights and social security and they will have no worries about their basic necessities.
