Paper-mill owners cartel: APPMA threatens to go on strike

All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association Northern Zone has threatened to go on strike if the strict action is not taken by the government against the cartel of paper mill owners. According to the spokesperson of the APPMA North zone, an emergency meeting was held in which the paper merchants strongly condemned the recent increase of prices of Rs 10,000 per ton in the prices of books board and bleach board in one day.
Chairman Standing Committee of Lahore Chamber of Commerce And Industry (LCCI) on Paper And Board Khamis Saeed Butt while talking to Business Recorder said that phenomenal increase in the paper prices has also effected the educational policy of the government. He demanded government to take steps to abolish regularity duty and anti-dumping duty to stop cartel and exploitation by the paper mills.
