27 Mar, 2010

President, Muttahida Kasan Mahaz (MKM), Ayub Khan Mayo, has warned that if India did not desist from trampling Indus Basin Water Treaty, MKM along with traders, lawyers, students and civil society would protest on September 19, 2010 on Pak-India border.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday along with other office-bearers of MKM including Imran Shaukat Rao, Chief Co-ordinator, Malik Muhmmad Nasir, Chairman Balochistan Zamidar Action Committee, Hajji Abdur Rehman Bazai, Secretary General Balochistan Zamindar Action Committee and others, he said that the Indus Basin Water Treaty was signed between Pakistan and India and under the agreement Pakistan's exclusive rights over three rivers was recognised. However, he said, India is trying its level best to deprive Pakistan of it's mutually agreed right.
Mayo said if Pakistan was made barren it would not only harm India and the US interests, but increase terrorism and extremism in the region. He further said that if India succeeded in its nefarious design it would have dire consequences for Pakistan.
He said that MKM is motivating the masses against the Indian water and economic aggression, adding that the organisation is holding conferences and protest demonstrations to create awareness among the masses against the Indian designs.
