Electricity to become costlier

The National Electric Power Regularity Authority (Nepra) on Saturday allowed power distribution companies (Discos) increase in power rates by Rs 1.02 per unit except lifeline consumers. This is in addition to 6 percent raise to be notified on April 1, in accordance with the agreement with International Monetary Fund, World Bank and Asian Development Bank. This increase has been determined as per monthly fuel adjustment formula.
