The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Qamar Suleman has said that the US government has agreed to provide 14 more F-16s jet fighters to Pakistan in 2010. Pakistan will receive four F-16s jet fighters by June 2010; the remaining ten aircraft will be provided by the end of the current year, he said while addressing a media briefing here on Saturday.
He said that the US government has shown its willingness to meet Pakistan's defence needs. "We are frontline state in war against terror, and the US leadership has accepted Pakistan's vital role in the war, deciding to provide defence equipment," he added.
The Pakistan Air Force is capable of thwarting both conventional and unconventional threats from enemy and to defend every inch of the country, he said, adding that the PAF is focusing on its preparedness and is taking stock of it preparations according to modern trends.
