Call for new medical college

Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Lahore, General Hospital Faculty members have called for the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to establish new medical college to overcome shortage of doctors. The demand was raised in unanimous resolution passed at the PGMI Academic Council meeting held here on Sunday.
The resolution states that facilities of PGMI/LGH could be used for setting up a new medical college and it does not need a big financial assistance. The members of council hoped that new medical college would provide an opportunity to middle class intelligent students to get medical education. On this occasion, Principal of institute professor Dr Tariq Salah-ud-Din emphasised on the members to utilise their abilities to research on new diseases and diagnoses to provide modern medical facilities to people.
