While accusing the government of minting billions of rupees through the sale of POL products, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has warned that any fresh raise in POL prices would be a anti-people step.
According to the press statement on Tuesday Baloch said that the government had already raised the POL prices to the level of 148 per barrel and the prices had not been lowered despite steep fall in the world market and there is no justification for a fresh price raise, he said in a press statement here Tuesday.
Liaquat Baloch said that the masses were witnessing unprecedented price hike and loadshedding, lawlessness and insecurity under the present government, which had failed to provide them any relief despite its tall promises. He said the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) quarterly report had exposed the government's inefficiency, indicating rise in unemployment, revenue shortfall and higher defense sending and deficit financing. He said one could not even think of industrial progress in the presence of 20- hours loadshedding daily.
