Mehsud tribes' safe return with dignity to be assured: CoAS

The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani Thursday informed Mehsud tribes that he has fulfilled his promise of October 2009 to clear the area of terrorists and extremists and the tribes' safe return with dignity will be assured. In a letter to Mehsud tribe, he said it is a historical reality that for the success of army, co-operation of people is very much necessary.
"The brave Mehsud tribes have extended full co-operation with Pak Army, which has made us successful," he remarked. "I known that Pak Army officers and jawans have given sacrifices in this operation and lauded the role of you people," he said. He said today is the day of the promise fulfilment. "The terrorist network has been eliminated in South Waziristan and we have destroyed their hideouts, only a handful terrorists have escaped who would be eliminated soon," he said.
"In next spring, you will be in your area and government of Pakistan has allocated huge amount for the developmental works which the Pak army would be spending on different planning," he added. He said that Pak army would work on projects to repair current roads and constructs new ones, small dames for the agriculture, provide electricity and promote education in the area. He hoped that this planning would provide jobs opportunity and also peace to people of the area. He greeted the brave people of Mehsud tribes and assured that Pak Army will bring peace and tranquillity in their areas at all costs.
