4,000 Sikh yatrees to arrive on April 11

Around 4,000 Sikh yatrees are expected to arrive here from India through special trains via Wagha border on April 11 to celebrate Besakhi. Some 15,000 Sikhs living in Pakistan and 2,000 belonging to foreign countries will also attend the celebrations, Deputy Secretary Shrines Faraz Abbas told APP here on Sunday.
Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman, Syed Asif Hashmi and members of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and other officials from relevant departments will receive the yatrees at Wagha railway station.
During their 10-day stay here, they will attend the Besakhi festival and perform other religious rituals in Lahore, Punja Sahib, Nankana Sahib, Kirtarpur and Aimanabad. They will return to India on April 20.
