Advocacy for Women Empowerment in Sindh: government sets up Steering Committee

The Government of Sindh has constituted a Steering Committee to oversee and monitor the implementation of "Advocacy for Women Empowerment in Sindh", aimed at raising awareness regarding women legal, health, education, economics and political rights through participation of NGO's and District Government.
This was stated by Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh, Sharmila Faruqui while talking to PPP women supporters, gathered at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to offer Fateha at the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Awam, a handout issued here on Sunday said.
She said that the Secretary Women Development Department is the Chairperson of the Steering Committee whereas, besides others, representatives of Information Department, P&D Department, Finance Department, Media, Aurat Foundation (NGO), Shirkatgah (NGO), are the members of the Committee.
Sharmila said that the project has been initiated with the objectives to promote empowerment activities i.e. legal empowerment, economic empowerment, political, health and education through effective advocacy.
