The Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Sunday visited the mausoleum of great Sufi Saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at Bhitshah Town, some 50 kilometres from Hyderabad.
The Chief Justice accompanied by Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramdey, Jusitce Anwer Zaheer Jamali, Justice Ghulam Rabbani, Justice Agha Rafique, Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and others laid floral wreath and offered Fateha at the grave of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
Sajjada Nasheen of the mausoleum presented traditional Sindhi gifts 'Ajrak' and 'Topi' to the Chief Justice and other guests. They also heard 'Kaafi' (poetry) of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai from the "fakirs" of the mausoleum.
On returning to Hyderabad, the CJP paid surprise visit to Tando Adam Jail where he enquired about the problems of the prisoners and facilities available for them. On some complaints of the prisoners, he issued on the spot orders to officers concerned for resolution of their grievances.
Earlier, a joint delegation of Sindh High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association Hyderabad comprising General Secretary Sindh High Court Bar Association Zahoor Baloch Advocate, former President Abdul Sattar Qazi Advocate, President District Bar Association Hyderabad Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi Advocate, General Secretary Ayaz Tunio Advocate and Abdul Rehman Shaikh Advocate met with the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at the local circuit house.
General Secretary District Bar Association Hyderabad Ayaz Tunio Advocate has informed that CJP has accepted the invitation of the bar to attend the annual function of bar as chief guest.
On Saturday night, the Chief Justice of Pakistan along with other judges attended the Valima ceremony of son of Justice Ghulam Rabbani at Defence Housing Society.
