Health Department Punjab has appointed 274 Women Medical Officers (WMOs) on the recommendation of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in various District Headquarters and Tehsil Headquarters hospitals and RHCs out of which 153 Post graduate trainee WMOs have been posted in the same teaching hospitals/Institutions from where they are doing their specialisation.
The posting orders have been displayed out side the office of the Secretary health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad. An official of the health department said here on Sunday that wed lock policy was given priority in the posting of WMOs, so that they should not face family problems and perform their duties efficiently.
He informed that the other 121 WMOs have been posted in different DHQ, THQ hospitals and RHCs near to city center (where possible) or laying at convenient distance on the main roads or branch roads and according to the PPSC District wise merit starting from DHQ to RHC.
Moreover, 10 WMOs have been posted in Central Jail Rawalpindi, District Jail Attock, District Jail Jehlum, Central Jail Gujranwala, District Jail Sialkot, Central Jail Faisalabad, District Jail Toba Take singh, District jail jhang, Central jail Lahore and District jail Kasur for providing better treatment facilities to the women inmates of these jails.
The spokesman further said that all those WMOs who have been posted, adjusted as per wed lock policy and have not yet submitted their wed lock documents, must deposit the same within one weak otherwise, their offer letters would be cancelled. According to the posting orders 121 WMOs have been posted in DHQ, THQ hospitals and RHCs of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Atock, Chakwal, Jehlum Guranwala, MandiBahudin, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narawal, Sialkot Sargodha, Mianwal, Khoshab, Bhakkar , Faislabad Jhang, Chinnoiot, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sab, kasur, sahiwal, Pakptn, Okara, Multan, Kahnewal vehari, Lodhra, Bhawalpur, Rahim kahn , Bhawlnagar, DG khan, Rajanpur, Muzafargarh, and Layyah.
