The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has introduced state of the art Student Information Manage-ment System (SIMS) to maintain computerised data of about one million students enrolled with partner schools under different educational programmes in 29 districts of the province.
Computerised record of all the 12000 students of Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) in Lahore City has already been prepared by the PEF. Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Muhammad Anwar said this, while presiding over a meeting with partner schools of different cities at his office. Various departmental Directors of Punjab Education Foundation were also present.
The meeting was briefed about the various policy decisions taken by the PEF to improve and strengthen educational reform process and to better interact with the partner schools. While talking to the partner schools representatives, Raja Anwar maintained that SIMS will especially help to keep up to date students' information for maintaining transparency. Through this system, monitoring and evaluation of the partner schools would become easy and less time consuming, he added.
Raja Anwar informed that PEF- IT Department has also launched online complaint box facility at the PEF website (www.pef.edu.pk). The objective of this Complaint Box is to provide online facility to partner schools and other users so that their different queries could be handled timely.
PEF has set up two regional offices at Rawalpindi and Multan to accommodate the regional partners and enable the poor students of these areas to get education without any difficulty. These offices would be helpful in immediate and prompt interaction and serving partner schools in their respective locality concluded the PEF Chairman.
