Tea, grams prices maintain rising trend, other items' rates move both ways

Tea is seen on the rising path due to traders who see some wrong with the trade ties with Afghanistan while grams and urad tracked same path on the wholesale market during the week ended on April 10, 2010.
On Monday barley and til were down sharply on the wholesale grain markets. Barley Sindh and Mardan were lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2000. Rice prices were also higher such as Irri 6 Sindh quoted higher at Rs 2450 and Rs 2475. Til shed Rs 100 to Rs 3700 while the other type was quoted at Rs 4000, cottonseed cakes with bag shed Rs 10 to Rs 1000 while the better variety was quoted at Rs 1010.
On Jodia Bazar tea is continuously on the rise. Indonesian tea (per Kg) PF-1 Good A rose by Rs 30 to Rs 280 and Good A quoted at Rs 290, Tanzanian PF-1 (CTC) rose by Rs 50 to Rs 290, and BP-1 (CTC) rose by Rs 30 to Rs 250. Rwanda PF-1 (CTC) quoted at Rs 330 and BP-1 (CTC) rose by Rs 50 to Rs 300.
On Tuesday gram 50x50 low type was seen higher by Rs 350 to Rs 4200 while better type was higher by Rs 300 to Rs 4450. Gram dal also gained Rs 300 to Rs 5500 while better type was quoted at Rs 5700. Yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2700, while the other quality was quoted at Rs 2850 and yellow peas dal Canada and dal beetle rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2950 while the other type was quoted at Rs 3100. Urad Burma low type rose by Rs 500 to Rs 3800, while the better type rose by Rs 1150 to Rs 5000 and rapeseed cakes rose by Rs 10 to Rs 720 while better variety was quoted at Rs 730.
On Wednesday till low type retained early level at Rs 3600, while better type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 3800. Cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type shed Rs 60 to Rs 940 while better type lost Rs 10 to Rs 1000, Irri 6 Sindh quoted at Rs 2450.
On Jodia Bazar Kirana items moved both ways. The changes were: KIRANA ITEMS (Per 40 kg): Dry ginger (China) finished higher by Rs 1000 to Rs 12000, dry ginger (Ethiopia) edged up by Rs 800 to Rs 7000, sago moved higher by Rs 250 to Rs 2,800, cuminseed finished upward by Rs 400 to Rs 9000 and Darchini closed down by Rs 50 to Rs 4,700.
On Thursday gram 50x50 conceded Rs 150 to Rs 4550 while the better quality was quoted at RS 4750, gram dal 50x50 rose by same amount to Rs 5350 while the other type was quoted at Rs 5550. Yellow peas Canada low type gained afresh Rs 200 to Rs 2900, while better type rose by Rs 300 to Rs 3150. Yellow peas dal Canada rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3150 and other variety was quoted at Rs 3100, Irri 6 Sindh lowered by Rs 25 to Rs 2425.
On Jodia Bazar bulk powder (per bag of 25 kg) Irish skimmed quoted at Rs 6700, Haleeb SMP quoted at Rs 6550 and Olden Burger rose by Rs 300 to Rs 7,600.
On Friday leading participants were busy in preparations for the Juma prayers, so not a single deal was finalised on the wholesale grain and oilseed market.
On Jodia Bazar jute goods twine closed higher. The variations were: JUTE GOODS TWINE (Per kg): 20x3 Brown finished up by Rs 17 to Rs 122, 16x3 CRT/Indus edged higher by Rs 17 to Rs 122, 8x3 was quoted at Rs 200 and 40x2 Brown moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 115.
On Saturday prices moved both ways. On the cereals side moong Sindh was higher by Rs 500 to Rs 7000 and masoor Canada followed the same pattern and gained Rs 200 to Rs 7800. Gur low type did not show any change at Rs 5200 while the better type gained Rs 200 to Rs 5800. Khandsari low type posted fresh gain of Rs 500 to Rs 7500 and best type rose by Rs 300 to Rs 7800. Gram 50x50 lost Rs 50 to Rs 4350-4550, gram dal 50x50 also shed the same amount at Rs 5300-5500, yellow peas Canada dropped the same amount at Rs 2850-3000 and yellow peas dal Canada lost Rs 50 to Rs 3100-3350.
A solo change was seen on the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh lost Rs 75 to Rs 2350, other items maintained the overnight levels. On the seed sector, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type fell by Rs 50 to Rs 950 and better type also shed Rs 10 to Rs 1000, they said.
On Jodia Bazar plastic mouldings compounds closed mixed. The changes were: PLASTIC MOULDING COMPOUNDS (Per lb): HDPE (FILM): Saudia 952 edged up by Rs 1.50 to Rs 65, Mobil moved higher by Rs 1.75 to Rs 65 and TR 144 was quoted at Rs 64.75. HDPE (INJECTION): Sabic 200056 moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 73, Mobil 016 closed down by Rs 2 to Rs 70 and Iran finished lower by Rs 3 to Rs 69. HDPE (BLOW): Marlex Singapore was quoted at Rs 66 and Iran went up by Re 1 to Rs 65.
LLDPE: W118 moved upward by Rs 3 to Rs 70, 7089 edged higher by Rs 3 to Rs 70 and Sabic 500026 ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 93. POLYPROPYLENE (FILM): Thai moved upward by Rs 4 to Rs 69, Kuwait closed higher by Rs 4 to Rs 69 and India moved higher by Rs 4 to Rs 69. POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India went up by Rs 2 to Rs 66, Kuwait edged higher by Rs 2 to Rs 66 and Saudia moved upward by Rs 2 to Rs 66. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia went higher by Re 1 to Rs 66, India ended up by Re 1 to Rs 66 and Kuwait closed upward by Re 1 to Rs 66. POLYSTYRENE: Pakistani was quoted at Rs 4,300.
COPOLY: Block finished higher by Rs 2 to Rs 73 and Randon ended up by Re 1 to Rs 80. ABS (Per bag): Polylac 707 moved downward by Rs 10 to Rs 5,890 and Iran went up by Rs 150 to Rs 5,850.
