A 14-member delegation, comprising prominent industrialists and traders, engaged in the hand knitted carpet weaving sector of the province called on the NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani at Governor's House, Peshawar on Tuesday and apprised him some of the difficulties being faced by the carpet weavers as well as the respective traders. They also put forward certain suggestions for resolution of their grievances.
The delegation was led by renowned carpet traders, Mazaharul Haq and Khalid Sultan Khawaja while the Secretary Industries, Jamil Ahmad briefed the Governor about the steps underway with regard to development of the sector especially establishment of proposed Carpet Nager Project in the provincial capital. Secretary to Governor, Sikander Qayyum was also present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor noted with appreciation that sufficient headway has already been made for materialisation of the Carpet Nagar Project and assured the delegates that every possible step will be taken to implement it within the given time frame.
