16 Apr, 2010

A delegation of Karachi and Lahore (dealers/ traders and consumers) met Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Steel, Malik Asrar Hussain along-with Senior Officers of Pakistan Steel on April 13, 2010 at Operations Building Bin Qasim Karachi. The main issue as narrated by the dealers of Lahore and Karachi was to put on record the harassment caused by FIA.
They stated that dealers neither caused any loss to Pakistan Steel nor they have gained any unfair profit. Due to harassment of FIA, sales of Pakistan Steel has been adversely affected as most of the dealers are not conducting the business and are hiding under the fear of being chased and arrested. The consumers requested the management of Pakistan Steel to take up the matter with Ministry of Interior through Ministry of Industries and Production.
The Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Steel assured the dealers/traders that this matter will be taken up with the Ministry of Industries and Production so that unnecessary harassment by FIA is stopped. The dealers/traders were satisfied with the assurance of the Pakistan Steel Management in this regard.-PR
