Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister vows to eliminate corruption

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Syed Mehdi Shah said corruption would be eliminated from the region and all necessary steps would be taken in this regard without any political pressure. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday he said, "we would never allow any head of department to appoint staff beyond merit."
Answering a question, he said, "we were taking actions for the rehabilitation of Hunza Ataabad affectees." He further said there was no shortage of food and other items in the region.
