The Board of Directors of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) on Thursday approved an amount of Rs 1.154 billion for the purchase of conductors to bring improvement in the distribution system of the company. The approval was given in 51st meeting of the BoD met here with chairman, PESCO, Wing Commander Jamshed Savul (Retd) in the chair at Wapda House the other day.
The meeting was also attended by acting Chief Executive Officer PESCO Shahid Mehmood Khan, Khalid Rai, Iqtidar Hussain, Zahoor Ahmad Barlas, Board members and PESCO's Senior Management, Chief Engineer Technical Malik Muhammad Siddique Awan, Chief Engineer Development Abdul Latif Khan, Director General Human Resources Syed Chand Badshah Bukhari and Deputy General Manager Finance Anwar-ul-Haq Yousafzai also attended the meeting.
BoD has hailed the performance of Muhammad Qasim Khan as Chief Executive PESCO; Board congratulated him on his promotion and taking over the charge as Member Power Wapda.
Anwar-ul-Haq Yousafzai Secretary BoD presented comprehensive report about the minutes of 50th BoD meeting and after detailed discussion Board of Directors approved these minutes. Nomination of Shahid Mehmood Khan & Khalid Rai as Board members was approved and they were welcomed.
In the light of PEPCO BoD decision, PESCO BoD approved a number of incentives for PESCO employees. so that the they can work with honesty, devotion and whole heartedly, these include increase in washing/liveries allowance, enhancement of technical allowance for the maintenance staff working in M&T/P&I, BoD also approved enhancement in the pay scales of drivers who have HTV driving licenses, Board approved increase in the ceiling of basic pay for the purpose of calculation of over time allowance.
Similarly, for improvement of distribution system Board accorded the approval for purchase of conductors worth Rs 1.154 million, as per details, BoD permitted to purchase ACSR Rabbit conductors for Rs 332 million, AAC Ant conductors for Rs 414 million & ACSR Dog conductors for Rs 408 million, this will bring an improvement in the system in addition to over coming low voltage and frequent power break downs.
Board also accorded payment of Rs 0.5 million to the legal heirs of late Zamarud Khan LM-1 who was martyred during a recent terrorist act in Peshawar Cantt. PESCO Board of Directors hailed the overall performance of the PESCO and hoped that the PESCO employees would continue to work with the same spirit and zeal for company's betterment and also to solve the consumer's complaints. BoD also approved a number of other administrative and technical matters.
