New development projects: AJK government allocates Rs 470 million

Under the spirit of the incumbent Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider-led AJK government to turn the liberated territory into a true model welfare state, the Working Development Party (WDP) of the state had approved 11 mega projects for public welfare costing Rs 470.20 million, learnt APP here on Friday. According to official sources, the projects fall in electricity, education (colleges), physical planning and housing sectors.
WDP in its recent meeting at Kashmir House have decided to allocate Rs 49.90 million for providing electricity and telecom facilities to the villages close to the Line of Control. It has also been decided by the government to spend Rs 71.106 million on the construction of 600 Kilo Watt (KW) Hillan Hydel Power Project, Rs 5.643 million on 4km long 11 KW transmission line from Kundal Shahi to the main Power station, Rs 56.397 million on Hilmat Hydro Power project of Neelum Valley, Rs 87.446 million on computerisation of electricity bills, Rs 73.180 million on the construction of residential buildings for the officers of district Headquarters Sudhnoti, Rs 10.290 million on Bar Room for district Headquarter Plandri of Sudhnoti, Rs 263.619 million on the project of sewerage and water disposal in Town Phase-I of district Bhimber, Rs 8.345 million on Sui Gas fitting in the officers colony Mirpur and Rs 3.100 million for the acquisition of land and payments of Boys Degree College Danna.
