Effective means of alleviating the ongoing power crisis, which is crippling industries nation-wide, was also discussed. In addition, he stated that the issue of rental power project needed to be contextualised and not sensationalised.
The Governor commended the current government for their pro-active role in pursuing market access for Pakistani textiles in the US and Europe. He forecast a positive state of economic affairs, with the Kerry-Lugar (Berman) funds reaching Pakistan next month and the IMF loan tranche following in the next three to four months.
