A complete strike was observed in the city on Saturday on a call given by different political parties including PkMAP, JI, ANP, HDP and Anjuman-e-Tajran to protest the killing of 11 innocent lives in a suicide attack outside the casualty of Civil Hospital Quetta.
The administration had deployed heavy contingents of police at various places particularly at the government installations and sensitive points in the city to maintain law and order. No incident of violence took place across the city as stringent measures were put in place.
All educational institutes remained closed. Business and commercial activities remained closed as shutters of the main markets were pulled down and the city worn deserted look. Public transport remained off the roads throughout the day. Civil society expressing sympathy with the families of those, who lost their lives, endorsed the strike call.
