Wheat procurement arrangements reviewed

DCO Saeed Wahlah has directed that the wheat procurement campaign in the district should be complaint free and the complaint centres at district, Tehsils and centre level should be made functional forthwith. This was stated by DCO Saeed Wahlah, while presiding over a meeting held here on Saturday to review the performance of the concerned staff in connection with wheat procurement arrangement at the eleven centres in the district.
He directed the concerned staff to perform their duties with good intention and commitment and their performance should be fully credible for the sake of good will of the departments and Punjab govt. as well. He maintained that good discipline should be ensured in the working and maintaining the record besides making suitable arrangement for straight queues in case of rush of farmers at the place of issuance of Gardawri, tokens for bardana at the purchase centres.
The DCO directed that the guidance and direction boards and banners should also be displayed on the conspicuous places for the information and awareness of the wheat grower. The detail of issuance of gunny bags to the farmers on different procurement centres against the set target was also reviewed in the meeting.
The DCO stressed that the fair distribution of bardana under the certain terms and conditions of the Food department should be ensured. He said that special attention should be focused on wheat procurement with regards to the purchase target in the district for regular and uninterrupted monitoring.
