NBP raises salaries of staff

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has announced a new package of increase in pay and perks of its clerical and non-clerical staff after due consultation with CBA unions of the bank, said an announcement here Monday. Under the package the salaries of all clerical and non-clerical staff would be increased by 15 per cent from January 1, 2010 from the basic salary they were drawing on December 31, 2009.
It has also been approved by the bank management to increase another 15 per cent salary from January 1, 2011 on the salary they would be drawing on December 31, 2010. In addition the management has decided to increase additional 5 per cent salary for the staff that has not been awarded any special increase except the regular annual increment during past three years.
The house rent has been increased from 50 to 55 per cent; utility allowance has been increased from 14 to 20 per cent; petrol ceiling has been increased from 75 liters to 120 litres. In the same way the bank has increased medical allowance from 15 per cent of the basic salary to 20 per cent.
The maternity charges, severe winter allowance, hill allowance, education allowance and the funeral expenses have also been increased by around 20 percent. The management has also enhanced the amount in other allowances such as funeral expense, marriage grant, house building finance, motor car finance and computer finance.
