A bomb blast killed six and injured at least ten in Quetta on Wednesday morning, near the Sariab Mill area on the Quetta-Sibi Road.
The explosion occurred near the police truck which was carrying 35 personnel and took the lives of at least six policemen as the vehicle passed Sariab area, local media reported.
The bodies and the injured were taken to Civil Hospital. An emergency was declared in the hospitals across the city.
Security forces reached and cordoned off the area. An immediate search operation was started. The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained but the officials suspect that the explosion was aimed at the police vehicle.
Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri and Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti have condemned the blast. "The people and government will not be deterred from the fight against terrorism.’’ said the home minister.
