Food department officials suspended

In charge Waryam Wala Procurement Center (Jhang) Assistant Food Controller (AFC) Nazir Ali Gohar and Food Inspector Sheikh Muhammad Azam have been suspended by the higher authorities of the provincial food department on the charges of procuring wheat in gunny bags issued by the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco).
According to a spokesman of the department a case has also been registered against both the officials under section 420 and 409. The spokesman giving details said that the Deputy Director Food (Faisalabad) Amjad Sargana received an information that In charge of Waryam Wala procurement center and food inspector were purchasing wheat in the gunny bags issued by the Passco.
The Deputy Director constituted a special raiding team, which raided the said center and recovered 156 bags full of wheat and all bags belonging to the Passco. Further action is in the progress after the registration of the case, the spokesman concluded.
