Pakistan envoy in Tehran attacked

Pakistan's Ambassador to Iran M. B Abbasi sustained minor injury in a knife attack by a person in a residential area in Tehran on Tuesday evening. The police arrested the attacker and was investigating the incident.
Muhammad Muzaffar Hussain Jafferi, Press Counsellor in Pakistani embassy in Tehran told APP on phone that M.B Abbasi came under attack when he was walking in a park near his home in a posh residential area of Darus at 5.30pm in the Iranian capital.
The man who attacked with the knife was a 23 year old Afghani, he said, adding that the ambassador fell on the ground as he received injury in his head. The ambassador was immediately taken to Iran Mehr hospital where he got stitches. After conducting a scan, the doctors declared him out of danger and would be discharged from the hospital sometime at night. The police did not made any comment on the reasons for the attack.
