Keeping its last year promise about ARM-powered laptops, Microsoft is about to launch those laptops that contains an exceptional two-day-long battery life.

The laptops will be powered by Snapdragon 835 – chipset that is featured in today’s latest smartphones like Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2. The laptop will also support traditional desktop applications because of the new Windows 10 update.

According to Microsoft, the battery life of the new Snapdragon-powered devices will be something unique and will distinguish it from the other laptops. The battery life would last for almost two days on a single charge.

Pete Bernard, program manager at Microsoft said, “To be frank, it’s actually beyond our expectations. We set a high bar for [our developers], and we’re now beyond that. It’s the kind of battery life where I use it on a daily basis. I don’t take my charger with me. I may charge it every couple of days or so. It’s that kind of battery life.”

Good news for gamers: HP’s new gaming laptop

The laptops that will be manufactured by renowned manufacturers like HP, Lenovo and Asus, are likely to hit markets by December, reported The Verge.

However, the Snapdragon-powered laptops won’t be as powerful as the prevailing Intel Core i series laptops but, their ability to last for two days can overlook the con. The laptops might also come with SSD storage and external graphic card, according to Tech Juice.

Microsoft claims that this new feature of long battery life is so new and amazing that initially during tests, people considered as a bug saying that Windows battery meter was not functioning as they imagined it would. The reality was that it was just the battery life that was exceptional and it was not any bug. “It turned out not to be a bug; it just has a great battery life.”
