Three killed in shootout over land dispute

Three persons were killed and six others injured, three of them critically, in a shootout between two groups over a land dispute here at Multi Professional Society in sector E-17 near Sang Jani, a police spokesman said. He said two guards of the society Muhammad Dildar s/o Riasat, Shahid Razaq s/o Abudl Razaq while Muhammad Sher Khan s/o Balak Khan resident of S. Waziristan of other party were killed during the shootout.
Three persons wounded seriously are in Pims hospital for treatment and have been identified as Ali Rehman and security guards Asad Iqbal and Muhammad Musa. Police spokesman said that it was the claim of party of the deceased Sher Khan that the 6-kanal of land was purchased by them in 1992 which was allegedly occupied by the management of the society.
They also alleged that management of the society erected barbed wires around this piece of land and ploughed on Thursday morning, which became the reason behind this tragic incident of firing and deaths of three persons. However, he said, the issue is being investigated.
