A man, committed self-immolation in front of Nawaz Sharif residence on Friday morning in Lahore, succumbed to injuries by the evening while leaving Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Chief distress in London for not meeting the hopes of another hapless Pakistani.
According to details, one resident of Faisalabad Mehmood Akhtar travelled all through from Karachi to Model Town Lahore and committed self-immolation in the park opposite the resident of PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif. There is a general consensus among independent political observers that the public is looking at Nawaz Sharif with hope but he is not responding to the public anxieties accordingly.
It may be noted that Nawaz Sharif had expressed concern over public miseries last week while announcing of public protest against loadshedding. However, he left for London immediately after the announcement, fizzling the public hopes in thin air. The public circles have started criticising the PML-N leadership for their lip-service to the monstrous public problems, oozing out of 25 percent inflation rate leading to pitiable public life amidst unprecedented loadshedding.
A massive confusion has engulfed public life in general and they have no idea as where to lead on whose direction. There is a general consensus that Nawaz Sharif is being taken as last resort by the majority of public across the country. But the dilly-dallying attitude of the PML-N leadership is leaving the general public with more confusion. Therefore, the incidents like this, said one political analyst.
