Next budget: Punjab to allocate more funds for welfare of people, says Kaira

Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that the Punjab government would allocate more funds for the welfare of people in the next budget and Punjab would also receive substantial resources from the federation under new NFC Award, which would be spent on public welfare oriented.
Talking to the media persons after prize distribution ceremony of Comsats Institute of information technology here on Tuesday, the Minister said the government would allocate more funds for energy sector to overcome the energy crisis. "The Bhasha Dam would start this year and for this purpose the Federal government will allocate funds in the coming budget.
Energy crisis is a national problem and all political forces are committed to solve the problem," he added. Kaira said the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N are enjoying good relationship and it is the need of hour that both parties work together for solving people's problems.
Earlier, while addressing the prize distribution ceremony, the Minister said some people claim that games and sports is not beneficial, especially for students, but in reality there are many benefits, as it releases pressure and teach surviving skills. He said we must all work for national integrity and mutual prosperity and must not only think in terms of our individual achievements. On this occasion, Lahore campus Director Professor Dr Shaukat Ali Hayat highlighted the performance of the institute. Later the Minister distributed the prizes among position holder students.
