NS Parliamentary body to prepare recommendations: Indo-Pak talks, strategic dialogue with US

Parliamentary Committee on National Security (NS) would prepare its recommendations keeping in view national consensus on Indo-Pak composite talks and strategic dialogue with US. Chairman Parliamentary Committee on National Security Mian Raza Rabbani said this while talking to media here on Tuesday.
He said that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday briefed the Committee in detail about on-going dialogue with India, which resumed recently after Mumbai terrorist attacks in November 2008. The Foreign Office Secretary and Additional Secretary were present on this occasion, he added.
The Chairman said that the Foreign Minister would also give detailed briefing to the Committee on the strategic dialogue with US in next few days. He said that the government wants to create national consensus on ongoing composite dialogue with India and strategic talks with American government. He said that the committee would take all political parties into confidence for preparation of recommendations.
Raza Rabbani said that the Committee would compile outlines for broadbased policy keeping interests of the nation supreme. These recommendations would be presented to the Foreign Office, he said. Rabbani said that the Committee would meet on June 3 to initiate preparation of recommendations.
