Filmmaker Karan Johar recently celebrated the first anniversary of his 2016 super hit movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ but did not to thank one of his lead actors Fawad Khan in his gratitude notes.
The famous director/producer of Bollywood faced a hard time in releasing ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ as the movie had a Pakistani actor in the lead cast at the time when India had banned work permits for Pakistani actors.

However, after the completion of a whole year, Karan took to Twitter to thank his entire cast, especially Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but missed thanking Fawad. The filmmaker tweeted that ‘ADHM’ will always ‘remain special’ and close to his heart followed by gratitude notes for the cast and crew.

In a video shared online by the filmmaker himself, Karan spoke on the controversy and admitted on not casting or working with Pakistani actors in the given circumstances, “For me, my country comes first… When I shot ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ from September to December last year, the [political] climate was completely different. There were efforts made by our government for peaceful relationships with the neighboring country… Going forward, I would like to say that of course I wouldn’t engage with talent from the neighboring country given the circumstance.”
