The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice here on Thursday disposed of a suo motu case against two cops of Faisalabad who had forced a man to stand barefooted on asphalt road that burnt his feet as police has registered a FIR against the police officials involve in the incident. Earlier, SP Sadar Faisalabad Zulfiqar Ahmad appearing before the court said that the victim Muhammad Shakeel had not joined investigation so far.
Chief Justice directed the victim, present in the court, to record his statement with the police and asked the SP to take the both accused cops in custody if the victim nominated them.
With these directions, the CJ disposed of the suo motu case. CJ had taken suo motu notice on a news item which said that two policemen of Tarkhani police station, Zulfiqar and Iqbal made Muhammad Shakeel stand barefooted on asphalt road, which burnt his feet after he (victim) demanded back Rs 10,000, the police had snatched from him in the name of frisking suspects.
