First Global HR recognition awards: public, private sectors needed to get country out of crisis

09 Jul, 2010

A combined effort of public and private sector is needed to get Pakistan out of the current economic crisis. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Speaker Sindh Assembly said this while addressing the '1st Global HR Recognition Awards 2010 Ceremony' held on Thursday here at a local hotel. The ceremony was organised by Global Media Links.
This makes 'The First HR Recognition Awards' an excellent platform that recognises and rewards the entire HR community, thus further emphasising the importance of Pakistan putting human capital as a key business income. He said that such conferences were also useful to bridge the gap between public and private sector.
He further suggested for maximum participation from the SME sector in this kind of award competitions. Earlier, Musaddiq Aziz, CEO Media Links, in his keynote speech said, "These awards reflect increasingly important and complex role that HR plays in many modern organisations.
"Moreover, the 1st HR Recognition Awards' fills an important gap in providing an opportunity for individual HR leaders, professionals, teams and organisations to come together to recognise and celebrate HR as a profession," he remarked. He was of the view that HR Awards are bestowed upon organisations that have achieved overall effectiveness in their HR and people management practices, thus contributing to the needs of businesses, the profession, employees, industry and the nation. "These organisations would have demonstrated effective, creative and proactive HR and people management practices," Aziz concluded.
