Copper rose to its highest level in more than a week on Thursday, lifted by the dollar's slump and a rally in global stocks as hopes of robust corporate earnings rekindled optimism about the global economy. Marking its fifth day of gains, three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange rose $26.25 to $6,666.25 a tonne by 0701 GMT, off a high of $6,725.
Shanghai's benchmark third month copper climbed 900 yuan, or 1.7 percent, to 53,210 yuan a tonne. It had hit a high of 53,590 yuan earlier.
