Microsoft has finally brought the updated Skype mobile version to Windows and Mac.
Skype’s mobile version was updated to 8.0 a few months ago by Microsoft that introduced an entirely new innovative design. The update also helped the application get billions of downloads from Play Store. Now, Microsoft has finally launched the new design for Skype’s desktop version too in Windows and Mac.
Skype now allows you to send money
The new Skype desktop version is available for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS. The update contains themes that can be customized and the user can chose from various colors and make Skype appear the way they want. Also, chats can be sorted out based on status, unread of time. Through a new notification panel, the user can manage missed calls, reaction to messages and mentions (to get attention in a group chat) in group chats. The update also supports add-ins that will allow users to include GIFs from Giphy or YouTube videos directly to the chats. The user can pin favorites in chat list and also advance drag-and-drop file sharing up to 300MB, reported Engadget.
The Skype for mobile established three tabs in its update that allows managing chats and contacts individually. ‘Highlights’ was also introduced that functioned similar to Snapchat stories feature where the user can share pictures with friends who can see them for 24 hours. The highlights feature however, is not yet available in the desktop update of Skype. According to Tech Juice, Microsoft aims to add the feature in near future.
