I am a consumer of the KESC with account number 1102638090024 and LA number 032483. The electricity meter, which is installed at my residence, is a faulty black meter and is not giving proper reading. In order to get my meter replaced, I had written thrice to the Chief Executive of KESC on May 3, 11 and 28th this year.
My letters were faxed to him at his number 99205192. However, much to my surprise and dismay, the KESC has not been able to carry out a mere simple task of change of meter as yet even after a lapse of two-and-a-half months. According to the KESC, such black meters would be replaced in principle at all the premises as they are worn out, faulty etc.
Approximately two years ago, only half of the meters in my apartment complex, were changed with the new meters whereas the other half were spared wherein my apartment also falls. Even as of today, out of 100 apartments in my complex, approximately more than fifty meters are either faulty black meters, crippling or are not in the working condition at all. Indeed the biggest harbinger of loadshedding in our city is the KESC, which is failing to conduct its act properly and would, perhaps, takes ages to change a faulty meter.
