Separate emergency blocks are being constructed in five District Headquarter Hospitals at Jehlum, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Bhawalnagar, and Muzafargarh at a cost of Rs 965 million during the current fiscal, under the chief minister's plan to provide indiscriminate medical facilities to the people of Punjab. The Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad while presiding over a meeting on Wednesday, disclosed it.
Special Secretary Health, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Special Secretary Development, Waseem Mukhtar, Additional Secretary Technical, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Sulehrya and other concerned officers were also present. The secretary health further said that due to the rapid growth of population the number of patients and road accidents are increasing and there was need to enhance the capacity of accidental and emergency departments of the hospitals for providing maximum best treatment facilities to the people. He said that new blocks of these hospitals would also be equipped with latest diagnostic facilities.
