Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam directed top officials of Islamabad Police to put security apparatus on high alert to avoid any untoward incident. "Current law and order situation demands extra vigilance as protection of lives and property of people is our prime responsibility," Kaleem Imam said while addressing a meeting held to review the law and order situation of the capital city.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Operations) Binyameen, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Imam directed the police officials to improve management and maintain discipline in their ranks so as to serve the people in a better way. Discipline guarantees success and it is important for effective policing and nabbing criminals, he added.
Speaking in the meeting DIG (Operations) Binyameen also directed the police official to review the strategy of controlling crime and monitoring the police pickets. He also asked them to improve the process of investigation and deal important cases themselves, maintaining lists of proclaimed offenders as well as court absconders and ensuring their timely arrest.
He said that SOP would be directed to ensure effectiveness of the police pickets and all the officers would ensure complete compliance. DIG gave special directions that Human Right Officers must provide relief to the complainants coming to the police stations and deliver through best of their capabilities.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan also ordered SPs and DSPs to make Citizen Security and Vigilance Committees more vibrant and conduct meetings with its members. He also asked SDPOs to conduct regular meetings with their subordinate staff at the police stations to remain extra vigilant towards criminals and anti-social elements.
