The Karachi Port handled 117,209 tonnes of cargo including 80,027 tonnes of import cargo and 37,182 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 80,027 tonnes comprised of 22,887 tonnes of containerised cargo; 231 tonnes of general cargo; 32,471 tonnes of bulk cargo: 10,157 tonnes of fertiliser; 12,800 tonnes of coal; 9,310 tonnes of rock phosphate; 204 tonnes of sulphur and 24,438 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,182 tonnes comprised of 27,368 tonnes of containerised cargo; 60 tonnes of general cargo; 7,054 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,818 tonnes of cement; 3,236 tonnes of bulk cement and 2,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Diamond Way, Glory Sun, Hanjin Montevideo, Cap George and Hyundai General sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz BBC Pacific, Argent Daisy, Darya Jan, German S and Rtckmers Duha are currently at the berths. Six ships namely Ocean Glory, MSC Magali, Krateros, Bunga Alpina, Rtckmers Duha and Argent Daisy expected to sail on Friday, while another vessel viz Zenith Leader is expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz MT Karachi, Mare Gallicum, Samin-1, Zenith Leader and Limnetic due to arrive on Friday, while nine ships namely Gulf Tiger, Chemroad Haya, APL Chicago, OEL Trust, Rainbow Angel, African Glory, F Spirit and Great Prestige are due to arrive on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 68,274 tonnes includes 21,543 tonnes of diesel oil; 13,319 tonnes of palm oil; 13,428 tonnes of iron ore; 7,294 tonnes of canola seeds and 12,690 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 18,393 tonnes includes 2,127 tonnes of rice; 2,142 tonnes of cement and 14,124 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three vessels viz MT Sumatra palm, CV Dubai Express and CV CSAV Jura sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more vessels viz MV Unicorn Dolphin, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Chembulk Singapore are expected to sail on Friday.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Dubai Express, CV CSAV Jura, MV Unicorn Dolphin, MV Wales-II, MV Orient-III, MV Triton Swift, MT Accord, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Chembulk Singapore are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, canola seeds, iron ore, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Champion Orchid, Caribbean Brall, Golden Falcon, Al-Deerah, MSC Liberty and Maersk Jurong carrying palm oil, sugar, diesel oil and containers are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Maersk Jurong, CV MSC Liberty, MT Al-Deerah and MV Golden Falcon carrying containers, diesel oil and sugar are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal(MW-2) respectively on Friday.
Two ships namely CV MSC Sena and CV MSC Namibia due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely CV Maersk Lowa and CV Saudi Hofuf are due to arrive on Sunday. A total number of three vessels viz Nedlloyd Tasman, Argent Eyebright and Southern Bull carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals are also due to arrive.
