This was stated by the LCCI President Malik Tahir Javed while talking to UNIDO team for Vienna led by Badar ul Islam, National Project Coordinator, Industries Department.
Malik Tahir Javed said regarding industrial intelligence units, there were certain points which he shared with the delegates about this concept.
He said, "We feel that lack of readily available data and information makes decision making challenging for investors, industry and government," he said and added, "Investors are unable to take any initiative as relevant data required for assessing the viability of various projects is not available".
Similarly, industrialists were unable to create accurate business plans, and had limited information on key elements, he maintained.
The LCCI president said the UNIDO's design for Industrial Intelligence Units should be enhanced to facilitate evidence based decision making by including coverage for macroeconomic statistics, industrial performance data, Pricing and costing data, taxation and incentives data, and export markets information etc.
