Student Nurse, Maxiline in her police statement here on Tuesday identified Dr Abdul Jabbar Memon, his driver Rashid and her class fellow Sajjad Fatima to be the culprits responsible for her rape in JPMC premises a week ago. The victim, a student at JPMC Nursing College, presently recuperating at the Neuro-Surgery ward following a severe brain injury alleged that she was thrown out of window after the assault by MLO Dr Abdul Jabbar, on July 13.
Her police statement was recorded by TPO (Investigation) Jamshed Town, Amir Jaffery, TPO Saddar Town, Javed Akhter and S.P Investigation, Arshad Qamar. The victim's lawyer Javed Chattari was also present on the occasion. This statement also coincided with her interview by an enquiry committee, constituted by Sindh Health Minister. The committee included Additional Secretary for Health, Dr Abdul Majid and Dr Padhiar. Maxiline alleged that Sajjad Fatima took her to the JPMC's Doctors Hostel, under the pretext to meet two other MLOs namely Dr Taiyab and Dr Farhat.
She said the car that carried her and Sajjad Fatima was driven by Rashid, driver of the accused rapist. Meanwhile, police sources have told the media that blood samples of the victim and accused have been despatched on Tuesday for DNA test. Doctors of the neuro-surgery department, JPMC said Maxiline could be discharged in next three to four days as she needed proper medical care as had undergone a major surgery only a week ago. Family members of the nursing student and nurses association of JPMC have also demanded fool proof security arrangements for Maxiline as they feared that influential culprit could harm the student.
